    Itinerary
4 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech to fes
Day 1: Marrakech >> High Atlas Mountains >> Ait Ben Haddou >> Dades Valley

Our journey begins from Marrakech, ascending into the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass, which crests at 2,260 meters. Along this breathtaking route, we’ll pause at a local cooperative to witness Berber women meticulously crafting precious argan oil. The path then leads us to the legendary Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed fortified village (ksar) whose timeless beauty has been immortalized in films like Gladiator. After exploring this cinematic marvel and enjoying a local lunch, we’ll continue through Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa.” As the day’s light begins to fade, we arrive in the captivating Dades Valley, where you’ll see the unique “Monkey Fingers” rock formations bathed in the warm glow of sunset before settling in for dinner and a peaceful night at a charming guesthouse.

Day 2: Dades Valley >> Todgha Gorge >> Merzouga Desert

The day starts with a journey to the colossal Todgha Gorge, where you can walk between sheer canyon walls soaring 300 meters high. We’ll then share a moment of genuine hospitality, sipping traditional mint tea with a local Berber family to learn about their way of life. From there, the landscape transforms as we approach Merzouga, the threshold of the Sahara. Here, you’ll trade your vehicle for a camel, embarking on a memorable trek into the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes as the sinking sun paints the sand in fiery hues. Your destination is a secluded luxury desert camp, where a traditional tagine dinner and the hypnotic rhythms of Berber drumming await beneath a brilliant canopy of stars.

Day 3: Full day to explore the Sahara desert

Today is dedicated to a full immersion in the Sahara, beginning with the awe-inspiring spectacle of sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, an exhilarating 4×4 expedition will reveal the diverse and rugged landscapes surrounding Merzouga. This immersive journey will allow us to meet a nomadic Berber family and gain an intimate glimpse into their resilient lifestyle. We’ll uncover the history of the deserted Mefis mines, feel the powerful rhythms of Gnawa music in the village of Khamlia, and visit the serene, seasonal Lake of Birds, a temporary sanctuary for local wildlife. Following lunch, the afternoon is yours to relax at your Riad with a refreshing swim or a quiet stroll. For your overnight stay, you have the unique choice of enjoying the comfort of your Riad or returning to the luxury desert camp for a second magical night beneath the stars.

Day 4: Merzouga >> Ziz Valley >> Ifrane >> Fes

After a final desert breakfast, we bid farewell to the Sahara and begin our scenic journey north towards Fes. Our route unfolds through the spectacular Ziz Valley, where a panoramic viewpoint reveals a stunning sea of palm groves. We then ascend into the Middle Atlas Mountains, pausing for lunch in Midelt and traveling through ancient cedar forests where playful Barbary apes reside. Our final stop is Ifrane, a pristine alpine-style town often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.” As the day draws to a close, we will arrive in the historic city of Fes, where your unforgettable tour concludes with a drop-off at your designated accommodation.
