After a lunch stop in Midelt, the scenery shifts dramatically as we descend into the lush Ziz Valley, a breathtaking ribbon of green palms. By late afternoon, the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi will announce your arrival in Merzouga, where you’ll settle into your hotel for the evening.
After breakfast, immerse yourself in the heart of the Sahara. A 4×4 excursion will take you to Khamlia village to experience the powerful rhythms of Gnawa music, then onward to the historic Miffis mines and out into the vast desert to connect with a nomadic family over traditional mint tea. In the afternoon, the highlight of your Sahara experience awaits: an iconic camel trek into the vast Erg Chebbi dunes. You will pause to witness an unforgettable sunset from a high dune before arriving at your traditional Berber camp, where a delicious dinner is served under a spectacular canopy of stars.
Awaken to the magic of a Sahara sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, you’ll ride your camel back to the village to reconnect with your driver.
